1973+ Bus. Are these two different ones? (one with a normal roof, the other with an elevated roof?) And are these 'official' Westfalia campers or something similar? |

Yes, two different cars. The crashed one has a roof made by Westfalia. I don't know, if it was sold under the name Westfalia in the USA or as VW Bus with Westfalia-equipment. Westfalia (for a long time partly owned by VW, now in bankrupcy) has produced a lot of camping-interior (and trailers and tow-bars, too). Often based on complete new cars/vans, mostly VW, but not always. You could also order the stuff on the aftersales market and make it by yourself in your car. |

Yes, and the second year that modelname Bus was used on US market. Pre 1978 they´re VW Station Wagon. I think the campers usually were sold as VW Campmobile or Camper, there have been some different names over the years. |
