Front end shown here. /vehicle_1652118.html Possibly Rolls-Royce??? Back end and shape seem to match but the grille doesn't. |

Certainly not a Royce. If 1957-60 then Princess 4 litre Limousine. If 1960+ then Vanden Plas Princess until 1968. Think I will go for the later option. I think I see the “VP” logo on the boot lid. -- Last edit: 2022-05-20 08:49:53 |

Entering as VdP, but intrigued by apparent front grille badge which looks like Austin script used in similar slant and position as early 60s FX4s; as this is LHD it could be sold new in F with perhaps Austin branding instead of VdP. They did similar a few years later with Mini Mk3, retaining Austin after it had been removed for most other markets. |

Very faint but look on middle of boot lid, looks like the stylised “VP” badge. Odd. |

Agree the boot logo is there and it means Princess or VdP phases (also confirmed here by shiny pillar behind rear door and other details - partial spats, grille surround), but it was always as far as I know just a stylised "P". I don't think there's anything we can use here to definitely split Princess or VdP, but just note that there may have been a legacy use of Austin branding in F for whatever reason, for which I can't find any reference apart from observing that a later recurrence happened with the Mk3 Mini. No figures found for how many limos were export and/or LHD or went to F, but seems a small but steady trickle were sent overseas for much of life from early 50s until end in 1968. |
