I thought it was just Metro in the UK for the 90-95 models?

Spain too?

[R6] either way.

1991-1993 Rover 114 GTi 16v [R6]

1) pre-1991 GTi's had single point injection, 95 BHP engine which can be identified by full spoke alloys ([Image: 80px-Rover_114_GTi_SPI_alloy_wheel.jpg]) while this one has 7-spoke alloys used for 1991 onwards GTi's, that had multipoint, 103 BHP engine ([Image: 80px-Rover_114_GTi_MPI_alloy_wheel.jpg])
2) All Metros/Rover 100s from mid-1993 onwards had colour coded bumpers, while this shows black plastic bumpers (except for the front spoiler, which was colour coded from the very start on all GTi's)

PS: obviously the name "Rover Metro" is incorrect, because this is clearly a spanish, left-drive model, while the car was marketed as the "Rover Metro" only in the UK, between 1990 and 1994.

Ok - changed. Made for E as non-UK model name. @Gabbianone94 - given your comments here and on other R6 pages, are you an owner?

Not really "Made for E", rather "Made for export" as most if not all export markets had the car as Rover 100-series instead of Metro.

So made for where?? We have eight 114 GTis at the moment, all (suddenly?) without any made-fors. 7 of the 8 seem to be Spanish, which must mean something worth registering.

I removed the "Made for E", because that name is not specific to Spain. And if seven out of the eight are registered in that country, it's probably because the local importer knew people in the spanish movie industry and provided cars as product placement.

I don't understand your logic. We had specific information which you've removed. How is that a better outcome?

Exiv96 BE

That specific information wasn't correct. Those Rovers weren't specific to Spain.

Given that there is a variation from the domestic UK spec and such an unexpected and unexplained spike in specifically Spanish examples compared to anywhere else, downgrading them to blankness means interesting and maybe useful information is lost, and a quirk of whatever circumstances is no longer apparent. As asked above, how is that a better outcome than leaving the evidence in place?

Typically from what I've seen, a "Made for" tag applies for a name change for a export market (including trim and engines) so "Made for E" would be correct here because the name and trim combination, while being for export markets, would indicate a destination for the vehicle to go specifically. The only case that a "Made for" doesn't apply is if the vesicle is RHD (I'm still confused at why this rule is a thing, i've never gotten a straight answer from anybody)

Personally I feel that we could afford to be a bit more lenient on certain rules relating to "Made for" destinations since most of the time information gets lost or refused based on the smallest details (such as the idea that a vehicle that isn't usually RHD can't be a "Made for" unless you dig deep and find something noteworthy or if a particular trim is made for export markets somebody will refuse to put a made for tag based on the idea that a general export trim is WAY too generic for anything special for some reason)

Agree with rtsbusman1997. "Made for" tags can and should be used more flexibly and imaginatively to reflect the potential information they can reveal and to allow better retrieval of particular subsets which would not otherwise be apparent. "Made for E" re-instated for this batch, which in fact seem to be completely Spanish sightings - 8 of 8, not 7 of 8 as I first thought.
