Whatever it is it dates from the early 1930s, judging from the style of guards/fenders. Possibly Bedford or Chevrolet? Bedford started in 1931 and pretty much took over from Chevrolet in the UK about then. |

"DG 3713 - Dodge Brothers UF-10 15 Cwt. Panel van - 1932 model" |

This doesn't look like the 32 Dodges I'm used to, so I guess it's a Kew Dodge? |

Seems from small book entry that UK Dodge Brothers builds started in 1926, including a 15cwt van but marketed early on as Graham. These seem to have been US designs until 1933 when UK designs started. The book does not say when Graham name changed in UK or when Dodge Brothers name became just Dodge, but has a photo of a "1935" truck (6-wheel tanker for paint, BLT 871 plate = London Dec 34 to Jan 35) with "Dodge Brothers" badge on bonnet side. 15cwt = ¾-Ton which we have as a name on some late 1920s US builds. |

The Graham name only appears to have been used in the UK up until 1929, until then a mix of Dodge Bros. and Graham appears to be used on various chassis. A final, new range of Graham trucks 1-ton 30cwt and 2 ton was announced in late 1928 after that only Dodge Bros. is found. edit: Agreed in 1933 the 30cwt and 2-ton trucks were essentially of UK design with only the US sourced engines being used. However the 3-ton trucks [GL3] swb tipper and lwb was still based on the US trucks. UF10 30cwt vans were around in 1930 with the artillery style wheels. A new range (15cwt Van, 30cwt, 2-Ton, 2½-Ton and 3-Ton trucks) of Dodge Bros. vehicles, was announced in May 1932 all fitted with pressed-steel disc wheels. Dodge Brothers, as a name, was used by CM throughout the 1920s and 1930s however that could be the magazine being slow to change it's reporting methods. -- Last edit: 2021-03-07 11:59:58 |

I know a few things about this vehicle. I know one of it's previous owners and have many photos of it over the years. I also have an almost identical Dodge Brothers Van myself. I'm very interested in any info on DG 3713 if anyone knows anything. It must be out there somewhere still. |
