A question: If you have the chose of to identical appearences Mk VIII and IX, what do IMCDb normaly prefere? The younger? |

We would default to whichever choice was the most likely, based on available info - so production numbers, export figures where known etc. Sometimes it's just gut feel, best guesses or hunches. If everything was equal between Choice A or Choice B, we'd normally go for the older option. In this case, production numbers were Mk.VIII - 6332, Mk.IX - 10005. No idea of export volumes. Almost all Mk.VIII were 2-tone, Mk.IX had greater mix of single colours and 2-tone. If there's a rear view, it would help for badging and to check if it has Jan 60+ larger rear lights (introduced during Mk.IX run). If this is the only picture and I were the only admin deciding its ID, I'd probably enter as Mk.VIII. |
