It's not a Ford Taurus. It's a Mercury Sable. |

... As it's said in the movie by Schwarzenegger himself. |

I love Mercury's cool lighted grills on their 1990's cars, like the Mercury Topaz. |

Too bad the Topaz grille didn't light up. The lightbar is the best part of the Sable. Yes, that's my car. Lightbar still works great. If I remember correctly, in the movie Arnold said "Mercury Sable: Air bag, Checker cab: no air bag". If this car indeed have an airbag, it'd be a '90 since that was the first year Sables came with airbags. -- Last edit: 2006-06-15 06:56:32 |

The 1993-1996 Tracer I believe had a fake lightbar as well. The only other Mercury equipped with a lightbar that worked was the 1993-1995 Mercury Villager. |

Arnold did say something to the effect that the car had a driver’s side airbag standard. I can’t remember if that was before or after he ran it head-on into the taxi. |

It was after the crash, when Danny says that he is crazy to have done that |

Arnold isn't adequate source at all. |
◊ 2011-06-24 19:45 |
Why not? It could be accurate information I believe. |
◊ 2011-06-24 19:50 |
Why they need to deliver accurate information? |
◊ 2011-06-24 19:56 |
What do you mean? Are you talking about the actors? If so then why not? |

I was replying to:"Arnold said it was an 89" For me, it isn't reliable info. |

(after the crash) Kid: You're lucky you're still alive you dumb idiot!! Arnold: Hey, '89 Mercury Sable, standard driver-side airbag. Checker cab, no airbag. Who's dumb? But as pointed out, the Sable didn't get a standard airbag until 1990, and wasn't equipped with it at all before then. So this car is indeed at least a 1990 as it would be impossible to tell without searchable tags if it was a '91 due to very few visual differences. |
