this info works only on LX and LX 5.0 , GT was offered like this or 2-tone ( option ) the whole time your comment made me double check and here's what i found body side molding inserts are standard on GT for 1987 and 1988 and optional ( even on GT ) from 1989 Canadian GT are in fact called Cobra GT from 1987 to 1992 , 1993 being GT only , probably to avoid confusion with the 1993 Cobra that came out, if we had any ( that, i knew before but always kind of " half-believe " it ) and that the 1989 mirror position on all convertibles was in fact a mid 1988 change ( found several 1988 for sale with mirrors in older or newer position ) so i have to revisit all the ones i changed... Woo Hoo concerning our friend here, i'd be comfortable with moving the year up to 1989 for not having the said inserts -- Last edit: 2022-01-29 08:56:45 |

Ahhh it seems you're very right, I've forgotten that those were optional for the GT back then. I couldn't see the mirrors that'd make it an '89 so that's another reason why I went up a bit. |

mirror thing is only on the convertible ( both LX & GT ) , coupe/hatch kept the same -- Last edit: 2022-01-29 14:15:51 |
