Movie partially filmed in Vancouver, so it might be an even rarer Monarch Turnpike Cruiser (185 made). It has the same pink/black color scheme as this one, though the timeline in the description might imply it was in Vancouver but not in driving condition in 1998: https://www.ccpauctions.com/lot-details.php?RefNum=r108&EventID=84 It even has this black circle on the taillight, a detail I have not found on any other T.C.'s, Mercury or Monarch. Most (but not all) Mercury examples have 'Turnpike Cruiser' text on the C-pillar, whereas Monarchs usually do not. |

Speaking of rare Canadian Fords, when Ford debuted the Ford Ranchero in 1957, Ford of Canada simultaneously offered the Ranchero as a Meteor model! It appears that it was simply called the Meteor Ranchero and was likely sold alongside the ordinary Ford variant. From what I can tell, production of the Meteor Ranchero apparently ran from 1957 up to 1959. It's an incredibly rare car that does not yet have even a single example on this site!
