Getting more and more difficult with each picture. I would say -- and treat it more like an educated guess -- it is a Ford Cargo, probably 0813 (7.5 ton). With possible alternatives details don't match that well: Iveco X-Range/Zeta has a sloping cabin roof, DAF 45/55 usually has different rear mud-guards. Same is true for the 4-Club cabbed trucks (DAF, Saviem, Volvo, Magirus-Deutz). Too many details (not that there are many) don't match for MAN and Mercedes-Benz. The next closest alternative I had in mind was the Volkswagen L 80 ... but that only arrived in 1995. The rear box-body and rear bumper are coachbuilt. There are many companies that serve local markets, so no information to be gained here. The inscription could give another clue. But chances are small to find information from the early 1990s. -- Speaking of the year, IMDb lists this series as from 1990 ongoing, but very little information else. -- Last edit: 2008-02-26 23:02:41 (antp) |

Yes, it's not clear to me what is the first year of this series. Is there a change that it is an Iveco/Fiat? As almost all vehicles are from the Fiat-group? |

I'm inclined to agree with Alexander, although I'm no more certain than he is. But the rear mudguards and the taillights look familiar - I lived with 08 series Cargoes (0811, 0813, 0815) for a couple of years. If Iveco did have a hand in providing vehicles it's quite possible that they would come up with a Ford Cargo - later ones carried Iveco logos but were never sold as anything but Fords in the UK or, so far as I know, in Europe. |

Chris is right, the European Ford Trucks were taken over by Iveco in 1986. Iveco is 100% Fiat owned since 1980. So even this being only a half-star background truck it fits nicely into the sponsoring scheme! |

If I remember rightly, for some time after the takeover Alexander mentions the smaller Iveco designs - Dailies and the 7.5-tonne (Euro?-)Cargoes which replaced the Ford design - carried Ford badging as well as Iveco, at any rate in the UK. I think it was to keep Ford Truck dealers happy ... it was strange, though, because the smaller Dailies competed directly with the larger Transits. |

It's a 2 star truck. So maybe worth listing then. |

If it is two-star, why not? Your decision. |
