Local build very likely. I guess full plate not shown, but is there a glimpse of the bottom of radiator? If so there is some E83W dating magic which can be done from the starting handle holes ... |

There’s no need, it post dates that because it’s got the “A Ford Product” badges on the bonnet. |

ZL, County Borough of Dublin commenced July 1950, ran until Feb 1952. Therefore 1951 seems to be a reasonable estimate. |

Reference to this: - http://www.e83w.co.uk/literatu.htm will show brochures that, in 1949 referred to these chassis as “Fordson”, and in 1950 called them “Thames”. While this can’t be definitive in respect of the date of the little “a Ford Product” badge on the bonnet side, we do know it was not on the Fordsons. Therefore there are grounds for saying 1950+. In the E83W owners Facebook pages is a picture of a 1948 vehicle, two starting handle holes, and a 1944 vehicle, one hole. Now just ‘45, 6 and 7 to deal with! BTW, both vehicles look original, but you can’t ever be certain….. -- Last edit: 2021-11-11 09:00:39 |

Arrival of twin holes discussed here - dated to 1948 and explained as consequence of first LHD E83W production requiring different engine mounting with new hole alignment. |

I knew something had been done, but basically couldn’t remember when. Second occurrence of brain fade this day, although there have been some extenuating circumstances into which I am not currently prepared to go. |
