Despite somebody put some "V" moldings on the rear lights, this is not an Eldorado Biarritz. So it can only be a Convertible Series 62. -- Last edit: 2008-02-22 22:12:44 |

My guess is around Yuma, AZ. http://www.gamineral.org/rr06_yuma-az_ogilby-road.html -- Last edit: 2008-02-23 00:42:48 |

Why NOT a '59 "Biarritz" convertible? It's just too fuzzy to make out a side spear (which would make it a "Series 62" convertible). |

I don't think it has a side spear. |

In some cases I increase the size of the image with my browser or an Image editor, like chicomarx did above. I can´t detect a side spear as well, but I also can´t detect any distinctive Eldorado chrome trim/ rocker panels along the body - thus I excluded the Eldorado. For there wasn´t a De Ville convertible in 1959, it must be a Series 62 in my estimation. |

Car is absolutely a 1959 Eldorado Biarritz. Has V emblems in rear bumper ends, upper side trim visible in YouTube video of the scene. The top of the front seat backrest is also visible in the video. On a Series 62 Convertible, the pleating runs to the top of the seat. This area is smooth on the car in the movie. Beyond any doubt the car is a Biarrtiz. Link to video. 59caddy is hundred percent right, this is definitely a '59 Eldorado Biarritz. His explanations are totally correct and the link to the video is the evidence. Ask to the man who owns, or have owned, at least one... |
