This is a stretched Silver Cloud II, chassis #SWC282, conversion by Suncoast Engineering, 350 Chevy engine. Who's in to take a contract out on his head ?? ;o) |

I hadn’t seen this one before. The front suspension appears to be sagging under the extra weight, and it is intriguing to think on how they beefed up the chassis to cope. When they “stretch” a monocoque design the stiffness is maintained partly by the eggshell effect of spreading the load over the whole volume. There is very little of this type of stiffness in the SC shell, since the strength comes from its chassis. I hope they knew what they were doing! |
