This is actually a 2000 model. The one in the thumbnail (exiting the building) has a honeycomb grill, while the one that hits the Chrysler has an older, horizontal grill. They're probably different ones or it might have been a replacement.

My parents have a '98 Crown Vic that I have borrowed a few times while getting work done on my car. They are not a bad car to drive, but I did have a little difficulty parking in the tight quarters of our garage since it is hard to tell where the edges of the car are. I do like the way this one looks though, with the blacked-out treatment.

At the St. Louis Auto Show last month, I was disappointed to learn that Ford no longer sells this vehicle to the general public. I was told that it is only available for fleet sales (police and taxis). If you want one, your only choice is the Mercury Grand Marquis version; but I have a hard time picturing the Grand Marquis as anything but an elderly person's car.

I already knew it was not being sold to the public anymore, it dissappeared from the Ford website a long ago now, but as well as i like the Crown Vic i like the Grand Marquis, i dont see it like an old people car, i still find them nice, why not owning one...
