Both the Land Rovers are indeed the 6x6 versions of the Perentie, which is unique to Australia. They are superficially similar to the Defender 110, but have a different chassis and cab which are wider, as well as Isuzu 3.9TD engines. There are a number of variants, ranging from the standard truck and ambulance to the LRPV (Long Range Patrol Vehicle) which has seen action in Afghanistan and Iraq. The fibreglass rear pods which were used for ambulances and communications vehicles (like the one on the right, which appears to be a comm unit) were built by Jakab, who no longer exist. |
