The car beside the trans am is a 1977 Thunderbird. I was driving that T-Bird. The film shoot started at Ernie Haire Ford on Florida Avenue in Tampa and wound up at the Courtney-Campbell Causeway. Burt Reynolds was a friend of Ernie Haire and they actually used his helicopter for the shoot. Burt Reynolds was in the helicopter. The scene just before this one was shot on the old Sunshine Skyway...shortly before the huge accident when it fell in the bay.
