Could this be Porsche 356? |

i think so... |

Pre-A 356? Also before 1952 as it has the off-centre of headlights indicators (see pics on link). Must also have 'bent' or split windscreen though hard to tell which also ended in '52. Inconsistent listing of these here on imcdb but I think it's best as a: 1948 356 Coupè pre-A https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/356/pre-a/ |

I think it has to be a late 50+ Stuttgart build; "bent window" screen without split came for 52, which was last year with indicators in this position; 53+ they moved directly underneath headlights, with horn grilles 54+. Exports this early seem very unusual. I'd probably agree, because I've looked at them before and quickly got confused about what was what and why. Suggestions for improvement welcome. |

So not what you'd call a pre-A? I thought all pre'55 cars were called that (obviously many years later, not in period). If yes I'd keep that as description as strictly unofficial. I've seen some further terms in the descriptions which might be worth keeping as well. I may even consider scraping 'coupe' and have plain 356, 356 cabriolet, speedster etc |

OK for pre-A. I'd keep Coupe and if possible try to group all 356s by body to get rid of that bunch of non-specified whatevers. |

@993cc, dsl: 1952 is correct, but a it's a 356 Cabriolet Already listed as Class: Convertible and if you look closely, that's just what this is (Light may play a trick, and details are hidden, but look at the uneven, flat top, the shadow above the windscreen, the small rear window and the lack of side windows, the color difference at the hip where the top meets the body - yes I realize it's in B/W) |

Indeed a convertible! But I'm trying to be a pain so I'll ask again: how did the made-for tag came about? |
◊ 2022-07-30 12:38 |
Beats me.... Remove tag? |

Already posted about this in the forum but you can remove it now and I'll edit my post there. By the way that's not even a Greek period licence plate... |
