Very interesting that Japanese police have been using the same color scheme and paintjob for over 50 years! /vehicle_213377-Toyopet-Crown-RS20-1959.html |

To be fair, it's very smart and stylish and very eye-catching, it's one of my favorite police liveries to this day. |

IMO I'm mildly jealous of how US and CDN cop cars have different liveries depending on the city/county instead of every prefecture having the same livery, but again that's just me ![]() Speaking of color scheme, they've added a "POLICE" script on the side in the last decade (as you can kind of see in the pic) so that foreigners can tell that the black and white car with flashers on top is a police car. |

don't forget states/provinces , they have different ones too .. ![]() At least when visiting another prefecture you know exactly what it is when you see one ... ![]() Maybe they just can't change it, it kind of entered the same status as the London taxi or New York's yellow cabs ones ... -- Last edit: 2021-06-10 18:28:50 |

Indeed. Because the NPA never really bothered to update or change policies for what the livery should be so the color scheme just stuck. |
