It looks like it might be a 25/30 Hooper Saloon or limousine, but since the only feature that can be relied upon from this view is the radiator, let’s see what everybody else thinks.

Assuming the plate matches the car it is from August 1936, the 20/25 and the 25/30 overlapping during this year. No further information can be inferred from the extra views, I cannot even see a car in the second thumb!

Found something similiar, I'm pretty sure these may be fake plates: Link to "greekreporter.com"

So my original identification is vindicated, excellent.

Why would I know that an English numberplate car, in what looks like a London street is in Greece?

By looking at the title and the scenery in the other pictures? Or was it all Greek to you?

Yes it was. I don’t do films and such stuff, I identify the cars from their shapes and characteristics, using my knowledge accumulated from many years of driving, car spotting and reading motoring magazines. This way I exercise my memory and problem solving skills, trying to keep them as sharp as possible.

BTW that numberplate is August 1936, not 1937.

I have not looked in detail at any of the other entries as there was no point, I didn’t know what they were since they were mostly American, of which I have no knowledge whatsoever.

Theoretically you could be right and this particular scene could be shot in the UK even though the rest of the film is obviously in Greece. But ..it wasn't ;)

From the facebook link: "Scene shot in Othonos 98, Kifissia suburb in northern Athens...this car (CAR 49) belonged to the late Freddie Carabot and took part in many PHILPA (note: a greek classic car club) events during the 70's and 80's.... He sold the car and to the best of my knowledge the car may still be in Greece. The new owner had no interest is joining a club...."
