This is one of 48 long wheelbase Buick professional cars of the Premier line that were built during the 1959 model year on the [4730] stripped Electra chassis - as opposed to the one standard wheelbase Flxette prototype on [4490] stripped LeSabre chassis which was built in 1959 after a 6-year-hiatus, when no professional cars were built by the Flxible Co. of Loudonville, Ohio, between the 1953 and 1958 model year. The unit above is equipped with optional California style 5" roof tunnel lights, white wall tires, a spotlight, a Beacon Ray light, a fender-mounted Federal siren and a two-tone paintjob - but they could have saved a part of that extra money, as this movie wasn't filmed in Technicolor anyway. |
