I checked with Carfax and it came back with the results for a 2020 Toyota Corolla LE -- Last edit: 2021-02-27 23:37:46 |

Based on the wheelcovers and the non-blue accented logo, it's a standard LE, with a ZRE212 code. |

Built in USA (with a "J" for first digit instead of a "1" or "5"? ), manufactured 2019 for 2020 model. https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/q?vin=JTDEPRAEXLJ023381 https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check-lookup/JTDEPRAEXLJ023381 -- Last edit: 2021-04-20 04:19:14 |

No, this one was "Built in Japan". Not only does it start with J, the plant code in the 11 position is also for Japan. The 10th position is for the year, L is 2020 (or 1990 on older cars) The other sources I checked show that this was ordered as a fleet rental car for Hertz. I am surprised because I didn't think they were importing the 4-door sedans from Japan, since there were two factories making them in North America, one in Mississippi and the other in Ontario. But it looks like they moved the Canadian production to Japan. -- Last edit: 2021-04-20 07:21:51 |

How did you pull a VIN for an American car? |

Vehicle History (I found this in a Platesmania comment section) offers a more detailed info of cars than Carfax (including VIN), but it seems to only work for cars still on the road as I tried it with older cars on IMCDb and it returns nothing. https://www.vehiclehistory.com/license-plate-search |

Thanks! Checked a few Civics and 2/3 pulled the VIN. Of course all 3 were already listed with the appropriate code but at least now we know we can pull VINs for US cars. |
