I used to deliver morning papers for a few years, also as an adult. I then drove an Opel Kadett [E], which was right hand drive. As I, already by that time, knew that Opel and Vauxhall belonged to the same mother company, that was GM, I imagined that Opel in Rüsselsheim, Germany, made all the left hand cars, and Vauxhall in Luton, England, made all the right hand cars. With that in mind I lifted the bonnet and had a look at the ID plate. It turned out it was made in Germany. Since then I have asked around, and it seems that most manufacurers make both left hand and right hand driven cars. Hence, such a conclusion as above cannot be made, as far as I know. |
