Entries like this is why vehicular illiterates like myself are easily confused.

I see this is rather authoritatively identified as a 1938 Austin 14/6 Goodwood, but DVLA and this site list the car as a 1938 Austin 18 Windsor.

Meanwhile, car #1 on page /vehicle_146904-Morris-Twelve-Series-II-1936.html is said to be the "already listed" Austin, apparently meaning this listing, but its plate is JG 9753 which is seen elsehwere on IMCDb as a 1937 Austin 14/6 Goodwood. Also, its logo is centered (the one here has it aligned to the side), it has a light above the bumper (the one here does not) and has no rear-view mirrors (while this one has one on each side).

Who can un-confuse me? :D

P.S.: The other Austin:

The blue over black car that is highlighted in your link entitled Morris 12 is some sort of Series 2 Morris from the latter 30s. No doubt at all. Austin it ain't. No doubt at all.

JG9753 looks like a Goodwood, "Six" on the grille.

Late thirties Austins, Forties Austins and some Fifties Austins are a minefield because they all follow very similar design cues within each age range, they just get bigger.

The 1937 10/4 Cambridge, Light 12/4 Ascot, 14/6 Goodwood, 18/6 Norfolk, Windsor and Iver all follow the Six Light, Double D back window and rear hinged rear doors, front hinged front doors style. There is also a 28hp Limousine, 1939 only. All that happens is that the bonnets get longer, and after the Ascot saloon the cars get bigger. The window proportions also change.

EOK 207 looks to be a Windsor not a Goodwood. Unless there has been some numberplate jiggery-pokery, which is not unknown.
JG 9753 looks to be a Goodwood.

I recognise cars by recognising shapes, and sometimes just say that's a so and so, without knowing exactly why. Being there when all these cars were an every day phenomenon helps as well.

I meant the car in the lower left corner of that image. It's numbered "1" in the thumb in the first comment (I should've linked to it, not the page itself, I suppose). My 'the other Austin' image is the unresized version of same from a 1080p source.

Thanks for the "minefield" explanation, mind. I figured it was something like that. I have this page's main image in 1080p, too, but it's not really much of an improvement:
