PT-76 based launcher for the FROG-2 ('Mars') missile. Apparently these were later converted into WPT-76 armored recovery vehicles. The only photo I've found of it so far: http://www.jedsite.info/tanks-papa/papa/pt-76_series/unknown/pol-13.jpg WPT-76 ARV: Link to "www.jedsite.info" -- Last edit: 2007-12-29 22:54:00 |

My mistake, the FROG-2 is clearly different in shape compared to the missile shown. Anyhow, would the chassis also have been built by LKZ, like the other PT-76 on the site? /vehicle_58540-LKZ-PT-76-1952.html |

The 3R10 Luna-2, NATO-Code Frog-5, introduced in 1963, used the LKZ 2P16 Launcher Vehicle, which was based on the PT-76. The same vehicle was also used for the nearly similar 3R9 Luna (FROG-3) and 3R9 Luna-1 (FROG-4) from 1961. |
