MAN F90 (1986-94). This is a (probably armoured) money transport vehicle. |

The base is a MAN F8 series truck. The F90 has a different look with a radiator grille looking smaller and different bumpers and lights. For some MAN cash transporters see http://lkw-infos.net/man-spezial.htm -- Last edit: 2005-12-11 22:04:31 |

You are right. Then the years of production are 1967-87. The facelifted version started in 1977 and the first four axle came in 1983. -- Last edit: 2005-12-11 22:31:28 |

It's an orginal pic from end of June 1990, shortly before the D-Mark has re-placed the "Mark der DDR" (better known as "Aluminium-Chips". This truck has brought some millions of D-Mark into the East (we German do it still now, every day with our taxes ) By the way: these trucks are still in use, for example by the German Bundesbank, the federal reserve bank of Germany. Just a few days ago I've the truck of the department in Hagen again. A friend of mine, a police-man, has seen, how this truck was loaded: a ground conveyor has loaded pallets in it, on which packets of money and gold-bars were packed like cream-cheese-boxes. @walter: this money-truck from Hagen is usually escorted by an fully armoured Audi A 8 (first series) - in green/white police-version with siren and blue lights. -- Last edit: 2008-02-12 19:30:17 |
