Probably a prop; in the film, it is supposed to be a tactical nuclear weapon known as a 'honest john'.

The real life equivalent:

Is it my imagination, or was that truck a QL Bedford in a previous incarnation?

the cabbed truck on the other side is a Bedford QL...the "missile"is a prop, based on a 4x4 Bedford RL chassis, with fake armoured open cab..never a feature on any RL...in its life the RL was only adapted to carry the BAC Blue Water Missile,it had a similar launch structure but retained the original cab.

I would agree the Bedford RL chassis was probably used (by the wheel design).

Made for Movie then.

If it is visually identifiable as Bedford RL, I guess it could be listed as that name. Made for Movie is rather for the unrecognizable ones (e.g. complete replicas)
