It is a 1936 White (manufacturer) National Park Bus, model 706, which is likely to have served in Yellowstone National Park. The Glacier National Park buses were Red/Black. It has a canvas-covered roof that is removable to allow scenic views when there is no rain. This even has the semaphore-style directional indicator mounted on the driver door (in down position). Interesting links: video Yellowstone National Park collection EDIT: This could be 1936-1939. This truck features a straight front bumper, rather than the dipped one seen on hank's truck pictures site and in the image on the Yellowstone website referenced above. I don't know of other details that distinguish the various years of these buses. -- Last edit: 2008-04-01 04:17:03 |
