Rear badge looks to read 180E which would make this 1991+ (went on sale October). This variant was unique to Australia. So far, it's the only one on the site. Nice find! More info: the 180E cost $17,000 (US$12,000) less than the 190E. It shared the same 1.8L engine, but lacked ABS brakes and some other equipment was also omitted such as rear headrests (as seen here). After it was introduced, it pretty much killed sales of the 190E, and it accounted for 95% of W201 sales after that point. Sales of the W201 skyrocketed - 325 were sold in April 1992 alone, which was more than than the 190E sold in the entire year of 1991. Total sales were 1868 in 1992 - nearly a 6 fold increase on the previous year. -- Last edit: 2020-10-01 14:14:31 |
