Sunbeam Alpine or Tiger. #14 Shelby Cobra in the foreground might give a clue as to which race this was?

I don't think this is a race clip, but testing - the Daytona has little airflow streamers all over it, plus the Alpine/Tiger has no racing numbers. Too many #14 Daytona appearances to guess where/when, but looks as if a repaired bash on front arch.

The Rootes-jewel is Alpine S4 or Tiger Mk1 from details, and there hangs a story. Rootes commissioned 2 prototype Tigers in 63 from US, one from Shelby (which may have been white) and another from Ken Miles (who at that point has his own workshop). Both were based on S3 Alpines and were shipped to Coventry; 14 English prototypes were then made by Rootes/Jensen using S4 Alpines and one was shipped out to Shelby in spring 64, who intended to race it but probably didn't in the end. As seen here it's had the original windscreen removed and maybe a cutdown driver's side (LHD) replacement, so my guess is that Shelby's Tiger became a team toy and that's what's here - "1964 Sunbeam Tiger Mk1 Prototype", made in exotic West Bromwich.

Ken Miles raced a Tiger in SCCA and similar events in 64/65 (chassis B9470001) with some Rootes USA support, but the few photos show yellow paint with black stripes, a butchered grille, driver roll-bar and #74; some have chopped screen, others full screen but bonnet vent. So I don't think on available evidence this is the Miles racer.
