What happened to 2018? In my view, the year of a car should be determined by the date on the calendar when it rolled out of the factory, or got its first registration. The concept of model years must have been invented by some goon in a marketing department to con the prospective buyer. |

And I don't. However it's not up to you or me, it's how that country identifies their vehicles. It probably should be 2018. On MercadoLibre.MX, several are listed as 2018. From the two reference articles, one calls it a 2019, the other 2018. The reference articles that Wikipedia shows for this info: This one states "2019": Link to "soloautos.mx" This one calls it a "2018": Link to "www.alvolante.info" |

Sorry to butt in! Massive subject, sure it's been discussed a few times. My view is since US especially has the well established "concept" of Model Year which is a completely different thing than year of production this should be followed. Also wherever else (Canada? Mexico?). But it is often the case MY is forced on UK, Italian, French, Japanese etc etc cars. This usually means just adding +1 to the year of actual production! Supposedly following US thinking. Which I find strange... . |

At least you and I don’t have to buy cars using this silly system. |
