Ambulance based on a 1960 Pontiac. Coachwork is probably a Superior Consort. |

In any case a Superior, but I can´t see if it has a short wheelbase (= Consort) or if it´s stretched. |

Superior didn't offer the "Consort" until the 1961 model year; however, builders such as National and Pinner offered OWB (original wheelbase) Pontiacs in 1960. This car is likely a S/P "Criterion" combination that was later converted to full-time ambulance service. This would account for the Federal "Fireball" beacons flanking the #17 as well as the B&M S-8B whistle on the fender. |
