The taxicab shown above is a 1935 Jones bodied Austin 12/4 'Low Loader' (LL). which, along with the Strachan bodied cabs made up the lion's share of London cabs from 1935 to 1938. This particular cab would have been in preservation at the time of the filming, as the last pre-war cab went into retirement around 1955 - having served a good ten years or more over their allotted life span which was allowed by the P.C.O relaxing the 'Ten year' life stipulation, because of the post war shortage of new cabs with which to replace them.
