The IMDB trivia page suggests it was filmed partly in Chile, so I would hazard a guess that this is a Chilean location passed off as Italy.

That is surely not a Chilean plate. I think it tries to be Italian, seemingly starts with MI (Milano). Still, the streets look perfectly chilean, and Veraneios were used as ambulances here.

If it should be an Italian plate, it would be a real worse fake. Anyways, the majority of license-plates in movies are very ugly and unoriginally faked.

1972+ Veraneio. The engine is a 6 cylinder, but not the 4,1 liter which was used in Opala and also in Veraneio when the front was changed in the eighties.

In 1972 the engine was the old Chevrolet Brasil 261, with 4280 cm³.

The ambulance stops in front of the "Posta 3", the "Emergency Service" of the "San Juan de Dios Hospital", in Santiago de Chile.
