The three F250s used in the film are also de badged except for the hidden Ford oval behind the push bar. Most film studios, if not obtaining product placement rights de badge the villian/antagonists vehicles so that those car makers don’t get associated as the “bad guys choice”. Bad for public relations. The Volvo’s aren’t de badged being she is the protagonist and victim and also is victorious in the end. Giving her car the winning view lol. It’s legal games, I believe if a vehicle is referenced in such a way that it makes look villainous to the audience, that manufacturer could sue the studio under misrepresentation or even showing a logo is copyright infringement. |
