Because it appears to be a Custom with tu-tone paint scheme and square headlamps. Only the 1979 Custom with the Explorer package received chrome bezels. Black bezels were standard both years for all trims except the Ranger Lariat. However, a lot of people optioned for the chrome bezels. If you have doubts pull the 1978-1979 brochures and read blueovaltech.com. Their write up describes chrome bezels as optional for 1978-1979. 1978-1979 Ranger has full chrome windshield molding which this one lacks. Could have been changed but the truck looks to be in great shape for being almost 40 years old at the time of filming. |
