could be a Mercedes Benz Bus of the 1940s. The front is the same, as well is the Mercedes star. Not original in this case were the front lamps, I suppose. |

It shall be set in Switzerland, but the scenery looks, like that with the Mercedes 170, rather Thuringian. I'm conflicted now ![]() |

@ingo: The shutters could have been added by the film crew to make the house look more Swiss. As for the bus, perhaps the bonnet and radiator were replaced to make it look older. |

Mmmhh, I don't think, that they took care for such tiny details. This scene /vehicle_449299-Mercedes-Benz-170-V-W136-1936.html was for 100% sure filmed in Thuringia (though the houses were also too shiny for the DDR. Maybe blotched just for the movie in the Potemkin-style). The architecture-style is unique and except there only to find in a few West German counties along the other side of the border. But only between West of Eisenach up to the Harz mountains. -- Last edit: 2011-11-12 00:14:00 |

Also the plate seems to be fake: on the right border the flag of Zurich is missing. |
