That sound like hell is the chocolate camshafts and the camchain sawing its way through the barrels.

Well, beside that what makes it unique is the fact that the V4 is the inner prortion of a V8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwEbwKBic6w
irregular ignition sequence
* 180° * 180° * 270° * = three-quarter time ta ta ta // ta ta ta
In fact that is what makes the V8 sound either
* 180° * 180° * 180° * 180° * 270° * 180° * 180° *

A V4 does sound good with the right pipes and these were quite potent, unfortunately the VF range is the reason why the VFR was so reliable, Honda had to over engineer it to repair the lost reputation.

Mine is 1985 has allready improved camshafts and oil lines etc. with now 82.500 Km and i know one that has 120.000Km
It is a Café Racer par excellence and as you say the original 4 in 2 attracts attention allways.
I use it as a daily driver in winter and never had a bike that reliable
The 16 valve engine with only 5cm stroke allows 10.500 rpm but cruising with 2.500 rpm at 50Km/h is much more what i like.
No other 1983 750ccm had that dynamic power delivery with 34HP at 3000 rpm and i had Kawasaki GPZ and Suzuki Katana at 4,6l/100Km

You need a long stroke Sunbeam.

The engine fires at every other telegraph pole.

The link to the video is now for a VFR1000 in blue.

Chocolate cam shaft made me laugh, was a massive mistake on Honda's behalf selling such a bad bike (early models) backed up by the CBX750 which had a bent frame as the jigs were out of alignment in the factory LOL AND they refused to put them right.
