Orign Sweden is not correct, it's made in the Netherlands, like all of the 3-series (originally planned as a DAF 77)

So is 66/440/460/480/S40/V40/S40N/V50, I read that it was decided to list these Volvos as Swedish.

Here we go again...
Mitsubishi's Carisma/Colt, Smart's are also built in the Netherlands

Yes, a new start of the old discussion.

With the 3-series for me there is no point of discussion, that it's a total Dutch car. Planned, constructed and produced in the Netherlands, just the owner of the factory has changed shortly before the production-start.

Yes, maybe I agree in this case for the 340/360 ;)

When you declare the Volvo 3-series as a Swedish car, for the same reason you must declare these Dodge Avenger-derivates, which Volkswagen took over together with the Ford-factory in Argentina in the late 70ies, and which were further produced as VW's, as a German car, too.

You mean "Chrysler" rather than "Ford" factory, don't you?

No, there was something with Ford Argentina. Somewhere in my cellar must be an old car-magazine with an article about that. Surely I was wondering about the relation Chrysler-Ford-VW, but as I remember, were these "Dodge-VW's" built as Ford's after Ford has bought the Argentinian Chrysler-factory years before. Later VW has bought the factory and the cars got a third badge.

There are some pics of these cars (as VW's) in this forum, posted ca.2 or 3 weeks ago.

Chrysler Argentina, which made the Avenger-based Dodge 1500, went straight to Volkswagen. OTOH, Volkswagen formed a JV called "Autolatina" with Ford, which encompassed a model-sharing strategy which resulted in the likes of VW Logus and Pointer and Ford Versailles. The Dodge 1500 also resembled a Ford Escort or Capri a little bit, but no Ford was involved.

O.k., you're right. Yes, I forgot the "Autolatina"-story. But I've a picture of such a Dodge 1500 in my mind, which had a Ford-logo. I'm grumbling, if it was in a car-magazine, of if I have seen such a car in real, last year at our vacations in Chile.

The 1970s Ford Escort (also made in Brazil, IIRC, not sure about Argentina) was quite similar to the Dodge 1500, or the other way around:

No, I don't mix up the 1975-81 Escort MkII with the Avenger. Somewhere in the back of my brain rumbles around this pic of a Argentinian Avenger with Ford-logo.

To come back to Dutch Volvos, the Volvo 66 was already listed as Dutch. I do not remember what was said previously about the 300-series but I agree that this one is more Dutch than Swedish (developped by the "DAF team").
But about the next models (400-series, S40, etc.), I do not know if they are still so much non-Swedish? :??: (omitting the fact that they are built in the Netherlands)
