Ford again? |

Yes, you can see the transverse front spring. Painted radiator means anywhere from 1917 on. |

Looks like a van, with the two oval rear windows. |

...yes a van, but is it a model T van or some other type of early Ford? |

In 1917 Ford only made the Model T |

Problem though is the origin of this van. Of course it's an American 'design', but I guess most of them in Britain were British built. Were there any differences (apart from the RHD)? At least the colour is not American ("available in any colour, as long as it is black")... |

From the little I have been able to find, the early cars were made from mostly imported parts but very soon locally produced bodies were used and they were made in right hand drive. By the end of production 97% of parts were made in Britain. A similar model T van but different colour, this is I believe the same actual van. The registration in the picture could be HO7811 but it is not registered as a Ford with the DVLA...... 1922 Model T Ford English 7cwt Van Very original, fully restored and repainted in 1994. The Poirot episode was before this so I believe this is the same van. source.... http://www.tuckettbrothers.co.uk/modeltfordsforsale.htm -- Last edit: 2007-11-02 15:22:18 |
