Maybe something sportier, like Imp Californian with those small vents below the rear window? /vehicle_979530-Hillman-Imp-Californian-1967.html |

I don't think a Sunbean Stiletto because it apparently lacks the vinyl roof. I would think a Hillman Imp Californian but DSL should give us the correct verdict. Californian, Chamois or Stiletto ? |

He said a few days ago that he's away on business and where he is at has limited internet, so he can only stop by for brief moments right now. |

I'm back after 10 storm-lashed days on Orkney. Which was an experience. Agree not a Stiletto - no vinyl roof, and doesn't have slatted rear panel. Badge looks like Hillman script and not Singer (Chamois) plaque, so Californian gets it. Early one before 69 facelift as it doesn't have the shiny trim panel (similar to 69+ Super Imp). |

My dad worked for Rootes, so we had lots of Imps when I was a child. Just been checking pictures to reassure myself that it is a Hillman badge rather than Singer, and now I'm not so sure. The other issue is that as far as I can tell, the side trim on Californians and Super Imps was always a black fill, even on dark colours. So a white fill suggests a Singer, which before the facelift had over-riders but they were removed in 1969. So renaming as Chamois. |
