Suggest it is a Maserati 250F, 1954/7. |

I think it's from the previous decade. |

Can nobody do better than that? My use of the word suggest meant exactly that. If someone can make a positive suggestion, rather than criticise with unsupported guesswork, I'll await someone with some knowledge..... -- Last edit: 2019-12-26 15:09:51 |

Could very well be but the picture you linked in the comment doesn't match your words. The louvres didn't match with your linked pic (our main car has a longer line of vents on the front) nor the cutout of the interior matched nor the exhaust system if examined closely. |

Thank you for your comment. It doesn't seem to be an Alfetta either, and I've looked at Mercedes monoposto cars and they all seem to be painted silver. Engine cover louvres are an easy change, the local metal basher just puts a few more in for races like the Morocco GP, but the shape of the body cutout or the side the exhaust comes out is a far more serious matter. -- Last edit: 2019-12-26 15:41:11 |

Nor is it a Lancia D50, no side tanks. |

The footage is from New Zealand International GP filmed between 1957-1961. I suggest Ferrari 555 Super Squalo, driven by Tom Clark in his #22 car (he was probably an Aussie driver who participated in an International NZ race). ![]() https://aussieroadracing.homestead.com/MervBunyan.html As a comparison here is Reg Parnell's 555 Super Squalo from the side: ![]() |
