But I have This is the Ford Taunus "Sportolet", coachbuilt by the Peter Bauer Fahrzeugfabrik of Köln-Ehrenfeld (est. 1872, closed in 1996, mainly commercial coachbuilding for the local market incl. trucks, buses, later also Ford Transit conversions). The prototype was scrapped in 1966 after it had been sitting on the Peter Bauer backlot for several years. |

DetailCars did a cheap'n'cheerful red 1:43 diecast in the 1990s, later reissued by Solido in silver. |

Here's more about the Sportolet and its complex hardtop mechanism. * @dsl: The diecarst cars are modeled after the convertibles the Karl Deutsch GmbH of Köln-Braunsfeld built through the years. While Deutsch was very active in the post-war convertible business, the Sportolet by Peter Bauer was a spectacular, but not very lucky one-off. *= That website appears to be a diva when linked from outside, so let's see how the screenshot works out: -- Last edit: 2019-12-14 14:30:32 |
