Specific history of this car
Ordered for the Royal House of Belgium, this convertible variant was used in the mid 1950s to transport King Baudouin at various state occasions. In order for the King to remain both in view and shelter, a fully-removable Plexiglas roof was specially commissioned and remains with the car today.

Condition
Recently inspected by a Christie's specialist, this Series 62 convertible is described as being in good running order but could benefit from some minor detailing in places. Wearing a state flag on the front passenger wing, this intriguing example offers both stylish 50s transport and royal provenance and in our opinion is worthy of close attention.

Baudouin in the Congo. Although the dagmars seem smaller there.

@chicomarx: No, Congo is clearly a 1954. Mr. Baudouin must have had several ones. :)

Edit: Sure, he did! I almost forgot about the beautiful 1958 one I once transferred back in the 1990s. Again ebony black with red interior (and white convertible top).

Transferred his 1958 Cadillac? How do you mean?

I had the honour of driving the car in question over a longer distance from A to B, which was a part of my job back then.

Nice. Autoworld in Brussels has several royal limousines. Of course the colony was a good source of income.

Here's the 1954 version. The plexiglas parade roof was built by S. A. Duchatelet of Liège, Belgium.
