on the right, under the open trunklid of the Benz, the back of a 1978+ Chevrolet Caprice - the model, GM tried to get a foot in the West German market with US cars (together with the Camaro). -- Last edit: 2019-10-15 21:55:17 |

Indeed, ingo. Chevrolet Caprice Classic must be rare in German market. |

Back then it was the most common US car on Germany, but still quite rare. |

Isn't the later Transit I listed as origin D, when it's in Germany? |

^ That's a question we've never really solved. wiki has no mention of D assembly for Transits of any Mark, so I don't really know why any Transits should get Origin D. Mk1 builds were initially UK only, then Genk started building them so this is likely to be built in B. So the argument should be Origin UK or B?? |

For what I know all the Transits (after the German Taunus Transit) were engineered by Ford of Britain, including the current LCVs (Courier, Connect and Custom). According to Wikipedia the Dunton Technical Centre is responsible for engineering not only of LCVs but also of A- and B-segment cars (Ka, Fiesta, Fusion, B-Max and probably the upcoming Puma). |
