Is it a "GMC" logo in front of the "1500" on the door of this Chevy? Or is it something else? (trim name?)

Yes it's a GMC logo. The top is a 1995-1996 I think.

Yep, the grille has most likely been changed for reasons unknown.
It is indeed a 1995-1996 model, as it does not have a passenger side
airbag. It also doesn’t have a rearview mirror. :D

Either way these trucks are perfectly interchangable. The average viewer probably wouldn't know the difference. It could be possible that the GMC was a "stand-in" for a certain scene.

It had both GMC & Chevrolet logos if I remember well: just before seeing the door the front is seen (in an uncut scene).
