1959 Series 62 6267F in bread and butter pink?... -- Last edit: 2019-09-25 20:55:04 |

This one is extremely overpinked aka. repainted. What you call "bread and butter" would have to be Wood Rose - all those atrocious lipstick paintjobs are retro ideas of "how a yank tank must've looked in the 1950s". There's something not right with it. Do I spot two door handles? And a body-coloured windshield frame? And a windshield from a 1959 Sedan de Ville or Series 62? And something weird going on where the convertible top is supposed to be? I think we have a decapitated sedan right above Patrick M. Schmitz! |

Rosamunde Pilcher is almost always filmed in Cornwall, so searching for similar cars in that area usually gets results. This one? Link to "porthlevenholiday.co.uk" Link to "www.alamy.com" -- Last edit: 2019-09-25 21:31:20 |

^ Kaboom! So it was a six window sedan... Look at that "closed" convertible two-person tent!!! That shouldn't even be allowed. ![]() Edit: A gruesome suspicion forms in my mind... When guiding people through our museum, I used to mention the rumours of a pink 1959 Cadillac Sedan "Convertible" with a VW Golf I convertible top that had been stretched in every possible direction. What if it's no longer in Munich and meanwhile moved to Cornwall? -- Last edit: 2019-09-26 18:14:00 |

It fseems fso - Link to "www.autocheck.co.uk" , https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ViewVehicle . But DVLA MOT says it's only a Cadillac (with model as Sedan Deville). |

All Cadillacs become Eldoradoes (what?!) by losing their roof and getting questionable paint jobs, just like an SUV is a Jeep by definition and any vehicle with a custom chrome grille is an Excalibur. I'd buy the Sedan de Ville theory, though - how reliable is DVLA MOT in that respect? Do they reveal VINs? |

Reasonably reliable in that they don't really invent things or guess, although in a case like this they'd rely on the accuracy of what was entered by the owner on the form. No VIN availability. |

^ I'll leave them in place as a warning to others not to assume all pink blancmanges are the same, and as a note to self to leave these exquisite creations alone. |
