That's definitely a 1940 Pontiac. 1940 Chevrolet had a different grille, not to mention the hood louvres. Looks smaller than a Torpedo, so I believe it's a De Luxe Coupe? |

1940 US Pontiacs had a split front bumper with two or three bars bridging the gap; see /vehicle_897380-Pontiac-Torpedo-Eight-2927C-1940.html for example. The Canadian brochure shows a solid Chevrolet-style bumper, like the car in the movie. It's not necessarily definitive; bumpers are easily replaced and a lot can happen in 44 years; but it is a mark in favor of Arrow here. |
