Even though the car has a 222 badge( the steering wheel is not the original one, either) on the trunk, it is just the original version of the Maserati Biturbo. The car has a rectangular shaped dashboard, which was only used on the early Biturbos. Instead of the analog Lasalle clock it has also the digital clock common to the "normal" Biturbo. On a 222 the radiator grill would not be shaped rectangularly.![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-05-02 17:58:37 (Neon) |

So should we list this one as 1983+ Biturbo? The pics aren't visible anymore.. Also, 222, 228 etc. dropped the Biturbo name, should we change them, or this has been already discussed? |

I believe the 228 never had the Biturbo name (and was the only one as early as 1986) as was based on a unique longer chassis. 222 was definitely post-Biturbo. As I see it Biturbo's are initial 'plain' Biturbo and E, S, ES, i and Si. |

Yes, that's what I think too ![]() |

Also Biturbo 4 doors-only had a numerical designation 420 S/i/Si and 425. 1986 430 again I believe was not Biturbo from the beginning. Another reference if you haven't checked it already: http://www.maserati-alfieri.co.uk/home27.htm |

Sure! You're welcome. So this should be plain 222 (but original post is... strange, too bad there's no thumbs anymore) |
