I can't see the grille, but whatever it is, it appears to be a 109" wheelbase panel truck. -- Last edit: 2007-09-22 18:27:48 |

Appear to me to be a late SIIa 109" (Basic I think). It does however incorrectly have S3 door hinges on. The lack of a side air intake on the N/S wing means it has SIIa wings on (or at least outer skins) The shallow sill panels date it at around 1968/9 I think, which I also think means the lights are in the wings as on a S3, but with the metal grille rather than the S3 plastic one |

The flat door hinges and not visible windscreen hinges point rather to Series III. The air intake could be on either side. The mirrors on the wings were used for quite a while into the S3 production (mid 70s). Steve, is there a view of the windscreen hinges? |

I'm pretty sure the air intake was always on the N/S - I've never seen one on the other side. I know about the mirrors, but I said about the lights being in the wings which would go with the shallow sills. It could well be a S3 though. I remember seeing the plastic dash of a S3 on Heartbeat once quite clearly and quite close up. |

The air intake for the heater is usually on the passenger side. But there are exceptions: /vehicle_48470-Land-Rover-109---Series-III-1971.html But probably you are right that only the outer panel was exchanged. I had a look at the repair operation manual and an intake on the driver's side wouldn't make much sense. ---- Steve, we need more pictures, please! |

I think this one is already listed elsewhere and I believe that one was a Series 2A fitted with a Series 3 bulkhead and some other later panelwork, probably by a previous owner to make it look more modern. |
