It looks like the front door of a Standard Steel Saloon, the 1946 to 52 date being qualified by the style of the numberplate. The 52 to 55 SSS cars had the plate mounted centrally on the bootlid, and hinged so that it could remain perpendicular to the road when the boot was over full so the lid was held down by the auxiliary strap. If a Royce, the car would be a Silver Dawn, if a Bentley, it would be a Mk VI. That’s if I am right about the door. -- Last edit: 2019-07-05 22:48:02 |

Thank you johnfromstaffs Rolls-Royce (if I have the radiator and mascot right) plus the front door of the Silver Dawn looks right to me from photos found. |
