Strange that it's taken us 6 years to get our first UK MG3, they really aren't anything unusual any more. BL19 plate = Probably a head office press fleet one. |

I'd buy them - these Chinese MGs look quite interesting, better than a Brilliance at least. |

They're getting fairly good write-ups as efficient and pleasant economy cars, though with uninspiring engines. |

Meh. Looks like a Hyundai i20 with a severe identity crisis. And I mean that as a compliment. I like the name, though, it probably eats away belts the way its namesake does. |

Who's giving them a good write up? They have a very poor safety rating (3 stars EURO NCAP when last tested in 2014), and they're really not that efficient either, as their fuel economy is no better than a new Mazda3 2.5L! The ancient 4-speed automatic certainly doesn't help with fuel economy. By the way, isn't 1.5L an unusually large engine in a car of this size in the UK? I thought 1.1/1.2L was the norm over there in this class. |

Pretty much, Polos, Fiestas, even the small Suzukis are offering similar power and performance from 1.0 Turbo engines with far better - if overstated - efficiency. General consensus is that whilst they are cheap a Dacia or a year old something else is a better value for money proposition. At least they've stopped them eating timing chains though. |

China has a thing with big engine displacement but low horsepower in most cars. And undersized wheels. |

Newer MGs have got also modern 3-cylinder turbocharged engines, for example the ZS SUV http://www.chinamobil.ru/saic/mg/zs/ |
